About the Lecture: Claude Monet was the leader of the Impressionist movement in France. Together with a small group of like-minded friends, he devised a new way of representing the world¹s natural beauty.  In the Timken special exhibition Monet's Étretat: Destination and Motif, the world of Monet is given a musical perspective with a carefully chosen selection of pieces by the finest composers of his time.  This beautiful soundscape that accompanies the exhibition is produced by San Diego Symphony Special Project Director Nuvi Mehta.  In this lecture, Mehta will explore the connection between Monet and Music. He will discuss how two forms of art  visual and musical  can invoke dynamic emotions when brought together and highlight the role music plays in our lives.

About the Speaker:  Nuvi Mehta, a graduate of The Juilliard School and Indiana University, is widely considered one of the finest speakers on classical music. He has a gift for capturing hearts and minds and his talents have led him to conducting appearances around the world.
