Open House for Educators
October 16, 5:00-6:30 PM

This is a free professional development program that will strengthen your knowledge of art history and provide you with creative ideas to integrate visual art into classroom teaching. You will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition "Masterpieces of Italian Drawings from The British Museum" (September 6- December 15, 2019), hear talks on works in the Timken's permanent collection, receive lesson plans and participate in hands-on learning experiences. All attendees will have a chance to network with other educators over wine and light appetizers and receive free bus transportation to the Timken for their classrooms. In addition, 25 lucky teachers from the San Diego Unified School District will be able to apply to have a professional teaching artist come to their classroom to teach a free art class (all supplied included).
