Neutra VDL House in Los Angeles
Join us for the first Modernist trip of the year and see Los Angeles like you’ve never seen it before! Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Neutra VDL House, home and laboratory of the architect Richard Neutra. Then explore Silver Lake's Sunset Junction - an iconic strip of nontraditional shops and eateries that cater to well-heeled boho tastemakers. The day concludes with a drive-by narrated tour of Neutra's Kaufmann House - a masterpiece of steel, glass, and stone - and his Strathmore Apartments, a historic, 8-unit multi-family complex. Throughout the day, noted architect Steve Hoard will provide fascinating information on Neutra who is considered one of the most influential architects of the 20th century.
