Eyewitness Views: Making History in the Capitals of 18th Century Europe
This first-ever exhibition of view painting in the golden age includes 50 works that record memorable moments ranging from Venetian carnival to the eruption of Vesuvius.  Created during the 1700’s the viewer becomes an eyewitness to the spectacle and drama of past life.

The Lure of Italy: Artists’ View
From the crumbling ruins of ancient Rome to the crystal clear light of Venice, Italy has fascinated travelers and artists for centuries. Capture the essence and spirit of Italy through sketches artists from England, Netherlands, Germany & France created to preserve their memories of Italy, while Italian artists crafted their own masterpieces in response to tourist demand for souvenirs.

Ticket includes: Luxury transportation (pick-ups in Balboa Park 7:30 AM and Solana Beach 8 AM), breakfast, private tours, and dinner with wine for the ride home.

Due to a scheduling conflict, attendees registered after the 22nd guest will not take a private docent led tour of "Eyewitness Views: Making History in the Capitals of 18th Century Europe".  Instead attendees will receive a curator led tour of "The Lure of Italy: Artists’ View" in the morning and have the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of "Eyewitness Views" in the afternoon.
