Programas de Lengua Española
Join us as we celebrate fifteen years of Outreach Español – the Timken’s unique outreach program for the Spanish-speaking population on both sides of the border through Spanishlanguage gallery tours, talks, lectures and other special events.
Since 1996, more than 23,000 students from Baja California have toured the Timken collection with one of the museum’s dedicated Spanish-speaking docents.
Student field trips are organized by the Timken’s Outreach Español Coordinator Lisette Atala in partnership with The Municipal Institute for Art and Culture (IMAC ) in Tijuana, The Cultural Institute of Baja California (ICBC), and the Club de Niños y Niñas de Mexico (Boys and Girls Club of Mexico).
The trip is an exciting educational adventure for these elementary and junior high schools students fromTijuana, Ensenada, Rosarito and Tecate. For many of these students, the visit to the Timken is their first visit to an art museum.
Transportation and other costs are covered by the Friends of the Timken and private donations. If you would like to sponsor a field trip for these students please contact us at 619-239-5548.
