Raphael, The Madonna of the Pinks

December 19th, 10:00AM

December 19, 2014 - April 26, 2015

Raphael's The Madonna of the Pinks (about 1506-1507), on loan from the National Gallery, London is to Raphael what the Mona Lisa is to Leonardo. One os Leonardo's Virgin and Child compositions was likely the catalyst that drove Raphael to paint the Madonna of the Pinks. Small as it is - 11 by 9 inches - the panel stands out as the masterpiece of Raphael's work as a whole.
