This talk will focus on the style and content of the Timken's tapestries as well as a selection of Russian icons, and works in the Italian, French and Dutch/Flemish Galleries. Claude Lorrain’s “Pastoral Landscape” will be discussed as well as Francois Boucher’s “Lovers in the Park,” Jacques-Louis David’s “Portrait of Cooper Penrose,” Peter Breugel the Elder’s “Parable of the Sower,” Eastman Johnson’s “The Cranberry Harvest,” John Singleton Copley’s “Portrait of Mrs.Thomas Gage” and the Timken's only Rembrandt on public display in San Diego.
