Free Virtual Talk - Triptyching Around the Art World

Image for Free Virtual Talk - Triptyching Around the Art World

Join us on this adventure in triptyching!

Luca di Tommè's and Nicolo di Buonaccorso's three-paneled hinged paintings in the Timken collection are examples of the triptychs found widely throughout the history of art. In addition to offering portability, why has this art form, one especially favored by many religions, been so popular?

Florence Gillman, PhD, STD, has been a docent at the Timken since 2022 and a member of USD’s faculty since 1986. She previously served as Chair of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, Coordinator of the Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities and Coordinator of the Program in Classics.

Join us LIVE for our semi-monthly docent-led virtual talk inspired by the Timken Collection of European old masters, American art, and Russian icons. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM Pacific, we'll be bringing you these virtual art history discussions for FREE, no reservation required. You can join us live on Zoom or Facebook.

Note that you will be muted upon entry and that this talk is being recorded as well as live-streamed. Please save all questions for the end.
