Someone once said that “behind every great artist is a great artist.” Throughout history artists have been inspired and taught by other prominent figures in the visual arts. Sometimes, the relationship is more one of guidance, while at other times artists participated in workshops that helped them advance their painterly skills. Artists such as Rembrandt van Rijn and Peter Paul Rubens maintained incredible workshops which helped develop many important painters.
