Join us for a special day, beginning with a guided visit to the Benton Museum of Art and its wide-ranging collection. Highlights includeRenaissance paintings, Native American art, photography, and an important collection of works on paper, including four complete series of etchings by Francisco Goya. Guests will also have free time to explore the museum.
Following a buffet lunch at historic Frary Dining Hall, we'll view José Clemente Orozco's iconicPrometheus mural, widely considered one of the most important frescoes in the United States.
The afternoon features a rare behind-the-scenes tour of Bridges Auditorium, where we'll see the ongoing renovation and conservation of its historic Timken Family Foundation-funded ceiling mural while work is still in progress. This special access offers an inside look at the conservation process and the Timken Foundation's role in preserving an important work of art. Before heading back to San Diego, we'll continue to the American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA) for a guided tour of its current exhibits.
We'll take care of all the details, including round-trip luxury coach transportation, a light breakfast, museum admissions, private tours, a buffet lunch at Pomona College, and a boxed dinner with wine for the return trip.
