
Kris Timken
Board Member
Kris Timken is an artist, author and educator. She holds a BA in History from Stanford University, a Masters in early childhood education from Lesley College and a PhD in Visual Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. As an artist she was awarded a large-scale commission for the General Service Administration’s Art in Architecture program. She has taught primary school and at the college level. She is the author of The New Explorers: Making Meaning in the 21st Century American Landscape (2015). Kris is a devoted grandmother of four who loves fly fishing and the Japanese art of Ikebana.
