Christian Buckley

Christian Buckley is the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Karmel Capital, a San Diego based private equity fund focused on the enterprise software space. Christian is also the co-founder and managing partner of Pelagos Ventures, LLC, a seed stage technology investment and incubation fund. Over the course of his business career, Christian has founded, advised, and operated numerous technology start-ups including KilpiTek LTD, Freedom Flight Works, BURL Concepts, Valona Labs, and TenantBase. In addition to his business expertise, Christian is an accomplished appellate law advocate and has given more than 175 oral arguments before California appellate courts including the California Supreme Court. Christian received a Juris Doctor with Specialization in Business Law from UCLA and a B.A. in History from UCI. He formerly practiced technology and securities law at Gunderson Dettmer, LLP and Cooley, LLP. Christian serves on the Board of Directors of The Old Globe and is a supporter of the arts and humanitarian relief organizations.
