Join us for the Timken's fall Art + Design Workshop: Book Sculptures. Set within the Museum's intimate Central Gallery and led by San Diego artist Sage Serrano, this two-hour interactive workshop is designed for bibliophiles and artists alike. Participants will learn about the art of folding paper; various folding techniques, patterns, and finishing details to turn any book into an elegant and unique artwork. No prior experience is necessary. All workshop materials are provided to indulge your artistic side and create your literary sculpture.
About the artist: Sage Serrano is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in San Diego, CA. She received her MFA in Art from San Diego State University and her BA in Visual Arts Studio with honors from UC San Diego. Her body of work includes explorations in papermaking, sewing, bookmarking, and drawing. Sage teaches bookmaking workshops throughout San Diego and is a member of the North American Hand Papermakers.
