The Timken Museum of Art is pleased to welcome back Erick Toussaint—known as the Sidewalk Chalk Dad—for another vibrant summer chalking event! Over the Fourth of July weekend, visitors are invited to the Museum’s front plaza to watch Toussaint bring to life a large-scale chalk recreation of John Singleton Copley’s 1771 portrait, Mrs. Thomas Gage.
In an exciting twist, the public will also have the opportunity to participate. Alongside Toussaint’s professional rendering, an outlined version of the same portrait will be available for visitors to help complete, offering a hands-on, creative way to engage with this historic artwork.
