In this docent-led presentation, explore major works by artists who triumphed despite human setbacks and prevailed through hope, humanity, and creativity.  For example, Ludwig van Beethoven’s usage of “Ode to Joy” within his last symphony symbolizes his commitment and resilience despite becoming deaf.  Likewise, many successful artists, including several painters represented in the Timken Collection, overcame various obstacles with purposefulness and adaptability to create great works of art.
