Using Art to Restore, Reflect, and Reconnect

Join us for a FREE professional development program designed for educators. This program invites teachers to pause, step into the quiet of the Timken galleries, and explore how engaging with works of art can help restore a sense of purpose, provide tools for connection, and introduce simple ways to integrate visual thinking strategies that support conversation, community, and curiosity without adding more to your already full plate.

Through docent-led discussions and a lesson plan overview, educators will discover how viewing and discussing art can encourage students to express their own ideas, build empathy, develop language skills, and create more inclusive and engaging classroom experiences.

All attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy wine and light appetizers, connect with fellow educators, and explore the Timken collection after-hours. Title 1 schools will receive free bus transportation to the Timken for classroom field trips. Teachers from Title 1 schools will also be eligible to apply for a free classroom visit from a Timken teaching artist (art supplies included).
