Self-Compassion & Empathy: Supporting Teachers, Inspiring Students

This FREE professional development program centers on Self-Compassion & Empathy: Supporting Teachers, Inspiring Students. The program offers space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect—with yourself, your students, and the power of art as a meaningful touch tool.

Through guided gallery conversations and a lesson plan overview, educators will explore how works of art can open pathways to self-compassion, deepen empathy, and support both personal well-being and classroom connection. Together, we'll consider how these practices can help students build awareness, strengthen communication, and engage more thoughfully with one another. Teachers will leave with practical ideas and a ready-to-use lesson plan that brings these themes into the classroom through visual inquiry and discussion.

Enjoy wine and light appetizers, connect with fellow educators, and experience the Timken collection after-hours in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Title I schools receive free bus transportation for field trips to the Timken, and teachers from Title I schools may apply for a free classroom visit from a Timken teaching artist (art supplies included).
