Join us as we introduce one of the most well known artists in history: Rembrandt. This virtual talk will dive into life in 17th century Europe, the Dutch Golden Age in art and Rembrandt's trajectory within it, using examples from the Timken. We will follow Rembrand's development from a young ambitious man in Leiden, to one of the most successful portraitists of Amsterdam, to a man broken by the misfortunes in his personal life.

About the speaker: Mariska Beekenkamp-Wladimiroff studied Social Psychology at the University of Amsterdam before pursuing an MA in Netherlandish Art at the Courtauld Institute in London. She organizes and presents live, online, and recorded cultural events tailored for both groups and individuals, working alongside her dedicated team of art historians and administrators at Art Historical London. Mariska also collaborates with various online learning platforms worldwide to design and deliver visits, lectures, and courses. As a global citizen, Mariska divides her time between Amsterdam and London.

Note that you will be muted upon entry and that this talk is being recorded as well as live-streamed. Please save all questions for the end.
