We tend to love the idea of an artist being this rather difficult and struggling person. For many, Rembrandt is the man who was stingy and who overspent, and eventually lost it all. Someone who seemed to be attracted to vulgarities instead of beauty. The most cruel of men, replacing one young girl for the next, having the first one locked up in a mental institution. Rude to his patrons, refusing to bend to their wishes ...This final virtual talk in the series will showcase the beauty and the suffering, the nice and the ugly, the exciting and the disappointing, showcasing that Rembrandt was just a human being, albeit one with extreme artistic talents!
