Men and women have been depicted in paintings throughout the ages and artists have played an important role in showing their power, importance, beauty, wealth, and other qualities. The Timken collection includes a wide variety of paintings depicting men and women and this docent-led talk invites you to explore changing approaches to representing them from the early 1500s until the 19th century.
