Join us to discover Two Museums, One Artist. Two art museums, San Diego’s Timken Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago (ARTIC) have perpetually shared their collections with their cities and the world. The Timken has been considered one of the great small art museums in the world while ARTIC has been recognized as one of the oldest and largest great art museums. The Timken’s collection is home to European and American masterworks as well as a collection of Russian icons and four tapestries; ARTIC is home to a wide range of art from early Japanese prints to the art of the Byzantine Empire to a multitude of contemporary art pieces. These two art museums possess masterworks created by the same artists.
